TOXYGENE 2003-09-30 - 7:52 a.m. What would Josho DIE for?with ryan's song a good six minutes long, there's enough to be heard but it's still not too long. i figure if i can compress a song into between three and nine minutes, it's satisfying for me. even eight minutes can be too short. pargon 2 is 10 1/2 minutes long. log of shit is over 14 minutes long. i can do without long-form songs for a while. (for a while. means i'll come back to them later.) i'm having difficulty stopping listening to ryan's song. it's that good to me. it starts off with a lithium productions "whoosh" baseline with random effects thrown in and a loud "boom" near the end to signify the beginning of the song, in traditional lithium productions style. the beats then take on a tone of their own with the synthesizer riff building underneath, and a couple of eurotrance bell riffs thrown in for embellishment. next the meat and potatoes of the track comes in minus a bass drum line, fading into another lithium productions "whoosh" before taking on the trance style. after a short while the main hook fades out with a key change, then after some more building of the bass, at 4:20 into the song, the "good part" comes in, which is just the main hook in a higher key, but when it fades out leaving you begging for more, you notice just how catchy the song really is. *eurp* don't take a josh wagoner hit. *puffs* damn. even though ryan's song only took me maybe three days at the most to complete, i still put hard effort into it. many a long hour of nitpicking through the song for even the tiniest and most insignificant of mistakes has gone by and even though i've loved every minute of it, there's better motivation out there for someone like me. even now, i'm still making little additions and tweaks to the song. i've practically had the song playing on loop, that's how good it is. urgh. this track belongs at a club or a rave. depending on what those cultures have become now. perhaps they're not even known as "rave" anymore. sign, OR view, my guestbook...
